Regulatory Framework

Our training delivery aligns with the following UK legislation and guidance:

• Health and Safety at Work etc. Act 1974

• Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992 (as amended)

• Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999

• Care Quality Commission (CQC) Fundamental Standards

• Skills for Care guidance and best practice principles

UK legislation does not require manual handling or mandatory training to be delivered by an externally accredited provider. The legal requirement is that training is suitable, sufficient, role-specific, and delivered by a competent person.

Trainer Competence

Training delivered by First Choice Training is provided by experienced professionals with relevant sector knowledge and practical experience.

Trainer competence is evidenced through:

• Practical competency assessment of learners

Formal teaching or awarding-body qualifications are not a legal requirement for the delivery of practical workplace training.

Certification

Certificates issued by First Choice Training confirm:

• Date of completion

• Delivery method

• Practical participation (where applicable)

• Competency assessment

Certificates are issued as in-house certification unless otherwise stated.

Where external accreditation applies, this will be clearly detailed on the certificate and course information.
